Faded memory TOMMY ZHONG women's 2019 autumn and winter series

The creation of the 2019 Fall/Winter collection was inspired by the idea that “memory will fade”. The images in memory are precipitated and fermented over time, beautified, become dreamlike, mixed with other memories, and become new things.

Part of the collection was inspired by the classic avant-garde portrait photographer Man Ray. There is a unique sense of calm in his work. In addition to the occlusion and scraping process of the German artist Gerhard Richter's paintings, combined with these inspirations, we developed this season's print design. The material in the print comes from the classic sculptures of the ancient Greek and 1920s. When creating the print design, we decided to bring the portrait and geometric patterns through the layers of color to bring a modern feel to this classic image.

ABOUT TOMMY ZHONG

TOMMY ZHONG was co-founded by Zhong Jiaqi and Jennifer Nelson in October 2015. The two met in the internship and decided to jointly establish their own clothing brand after one year. Since its establishment, TOMMY ZHONG has officially launched five fashion collections, which have attracted the attention of international media and buyers.

Zhong Jiaqi received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Fashion and Textile from The Glasgow School of Art. Before going abroad, he studied briefly at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He has been interested in art since childhood, especially the works of the German artist Gerhard Richter's Abstraktes Bild and the dance performance of the German modern dancer Pina Bausch. Jennifer Nelson graduated from the University of the Creative Art in fashion design, and Mark Rothko's Rothko Chapel has had a profound impact on her artistic enlightenment.
